Since our founding in 1992 The Democracy Center has trained and counseled thousands of social justice advocates on five continents - from immigrant activists and PTA moms in California, to public health workers in South Africa and the former USSR, and human rights advocates in Latin America and Asia.
The Center offers workshops, training, and counseling across the full range of advocates activities - strategy development, policy and budget analysis, media advocacy, organizing and coalition building, lobbying and influencing public officials, and more.
"The Democracy Center really helped us to formulate a vision, to believe in our own abilities and 'expertise' and gave us the tools to be able to help others to believe in themselves and to advocate for their rights."
Sue Ellis, International Relief and Development.
