Some Tips For Letter Writing
Letters to Lawmakers
- If
you are a constituent let them know.
- Be
clear about what issue you are writing about and what
action you want them to take.
- Be
personal, tell how the issue affects you or your family.
- Be
concise.
- Include your full name and mailing address.
Letters to the Editor
- If
possible, reference your letter to a specific article
or editorial that has appeared in that newspaper.
- Be
brief, 250 words or less.
- Include your full name, address and phone number.
